Stitch Pray & Crochet 4 Cancer

The beginning

I started on May 19th of 2019 as way to remember my father, a WWII veteran, who had skin cancer. May 19th was his birthday, and for my mother who had breast cancer.

So many people in our lives are touched by cancer, out parents, our children, siblings. It is not just one person who feels its affects, it is everyone around them. You can see it on their face, in their sigh, or in the unspoken words that fail to capture the pain that they feel.

This Charity, is a way to give hope and warmth to those who need it, to show that someone understands and loves you. I have been there, with my parents, I know how you feel. It is hard to keep your head up, to go on when you feel like the earth is opening up and swallowing you whole.

But YOU ARE NOT ALONE! There are thousands of other people out there going through the same thing you are. Others have already been through it. It is NOT something that you can or should go through alone!

One blanket, one hat or stuffed animal, gives that one person struggling with cancer hope. It shows that someone loves them and they are thought of.

Donations are greatly appreciated to S.P & C 4 C. With the help of First Farmersburg Presbyterian Church and others of our community, I am able to continue my work.

Recently, I have learned of another need in the community, children in the elementary schools do not have hats, scarves or gloves for winter. I am currently working on 30 set of hats and scarves and I have people who are willing to purchase gloves for the children. The hats and scarves that I am making have black as a secondary color, so that black gloves can be purchased.

(One simple act of kindness, of giving, has a greater impact on the world than you could possibly imagine!)

Karen and Ann are 2 ladies that I walk around the local park with. There was a mom walking ( she had a large stroller) to school with 4 little ones and it was chilly outside. I had blankets in the van and gave each child a blanket to stay warm on the walk.

Seeing this, Ann and Karen asked me if I needed yarn, and I said yes. Then, a few days later, I got yarn from her  daughter. A few days after that another person brought me yarn, this person walks the park too, but I did not get their name.

You see, one random act of kindness can multiply! It is a beautiful thing when a community can come together and help each other.

God bless each and every one of you.
