Today is the day...

Today, I finally decided to make a blog.

The road from the beginning has not been difficult, because I always knew that there was something I wanted to do, but it was one of being unsure. I was unsure that this was the path I wanted to take, I mean how many others were out there making blankets for cancer patients? I did not know. Would the hospitals even allow me to make donations? I thought, well if they do not, then where do I take them? There is a need in homeless shelters. Which I have made hats and scarves for in the past. I also gave some to the local police, to stave off the cold while they were on patrol. I am thankful that I have a place to donate to, but sadden at the thought of so many in need.

Many times I have  thought, prayer is what is needed as I stitch another stitch, so I pray as I crochet. Then when the blanket is complete, I take it and the many others I have done to be prayed over by our congregation before taking them to the hospital.

For everyone out there, if  you are a patient, a spouse or family member, a friend or loved one. Please know that you are loved, you are thought of, and even though I do not know you, I am here.

We all are, in our own way. It may be just sitting beside you holding your hand or giving a warm embrace. It could be the food dropped off, or watching the children or pets, or even the many nights sitting up together so you will not be alone.

You are NEVER alone.  Bless you beautiful humans, and remember ...I am here.
